I am seeing the same here on my Ubuntu hardy with 2.6.25.3 + r3746,
connecting to a netgear prosafe WG102 AP works only with -Dmadwifi ... it
seem that the problem depends on the AP, since connecting to a Zyxel AP in
another location workes fine ...
