After checking ./Makefile.inc, line 106 predefines KMODPATH as:
KMODPATH :=
/lib/modules/$(KERNELRELEASE)/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/madwifi
so, removing extraneous slashes in the Makefiles should not be a problem.
