Adrian: You must disable loading ath5k--remove the module or blacklist it.
As mrezmann said, it's off-topic here; this step is also explicitly stated
in the instructions as I recall.
Gkdeb: I'm also running an Acer Aspire 5520-5912. If you look on the
underside the radio ID label will say "AR5BXB63", another name for the
AR5007EG aka AR2425. It works perfectly under SlamD64 (64 bit Slackware
clone) and, with the latest update, all kernels to the current 2.6.26.
However, I have not tested monitor mode yet. The EEPROM magic error
happens on mine as well, but doesn't affect operation.
And Proski, since I'm writing already: Thanks for the update! 2.6.26 is
perfect now!
