New description:

 Hi,

 Here is our configuration

  * Madwifi: trunk r3837
  * Kernel: 2.6.21.4
  * Machine: Gateworks Avila Network Platform
  * Processor: Intel(Xscale)IXP420 266Mhz
  * Radios: ubiquiti SR5 AR5213A-001  and ubiquiti SR2 AR5213A-001

 When we bring up an AP and a Station using SR5 radios (Ubiquiti), the
 station cannot see the hardware beacons of the AP instantly (We have
 tested with the athdebug commands.)... Its only visible after a delay...
 Again some of the packets are lost when we try to pass the traffic after
 its associated. (seems that the interface doesn't support traffic for some
 unknown time...)

 I have been working with r2456 and was working fine.

 The commands that given:

 {{{
 modprobe ath_pci
 modprobe wlan_scan_ap
 wlanconfig ath0 destroy
 wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap
 ifconfig ath0 xx:xx:xx:xx up
 iwconfig ath0 essid "asdf"
 iwconfig ath0
 }}}

 at Ap side:
 {{{
 Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 22
 of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 20.
 Some things may be broken...

 ath0      IEEE 802.11a  ESSID:"asdf"  Nickname:""
           Mode:Master  Frequency:5.26 GHz  Access Point: Not-Associated
           Bit Rate:0 kb/s   Tx-Power:16 dBm   Sensitivity=1/1
           Retry:off   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
           Encryption key:off
           Power Management:off
           Link Quality=0/70 Signal level=-96 dBm Noise level=-96 dBm
           Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
           Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0
 }}}

 At station side...
 {{{
 modprobe ath_pci
 modprobe wlan_scan_sta
 wlanconfig ath0 destroy
 wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode sta
 ifconfig ath0 up
 iwconfig ath0 essid "asdf"

 iwconfig

 [EMAIL PROTECTED] /]# iwconfig
 lo        no wireless extensions.

 eth0      no wireless extensions.

 eth1      no wireless extensions.

 wifi0     no wireless extensions.

 Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 22
 of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 20.
 Some things may be broken...

 ath0      IEEE 802.11a  ESSID:"asdf"  Nickname:""
           Mode:Managed  Frequency:5.26 GHz  Access Point: Not-Associated
           Bit Rate:0 kb/s   Tx-Power:16 dBm   Sensitivity=1/1
           Retry:off   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
           Encryption key:off
           Power Management:off
           Link Quality=0/70 Signal level=-96 dBm Noise level=-96 dBm
           Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
           Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0
 }}}

 At the statio side when we scan ...
 {{{
 iwlist ath0 scan

 Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 22
 of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 20.
 Some things may be broken...

 ath0      No scan results
 }}}

 I have also tried with the iwpriv commands to set the inactivity of the
 interfaces but doesn't seems to be working...

 After a time delay its getting associated. But misses the traffic some
 times

 When I tried with the SR2 radios we are getting better results than SR5
 radios. but it misses the packets after associating.

 Thanking you,
 Best regards,
 Riyaskhan S A,
 Meshcity
