I have the same problem. I am using:
Proxim 8482-wd
Suse 11.0
kernel 2.6.25.16-0.1-default SMP x86_64
latest madwifi
With madwifi-trunk-r3856-20080903 it hard freezes
With madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3861-20080903 it doesn´t freeze, but I get this
error:
ath_pci: HAL doesn´t support hal revision 0xffffffff
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:05:01.0 disabled
My card is at 05:01.0
