Hey everyone, I realize I'm just regurgitating what's been said here
already, but my 5005G card quit working unexpectedly, and after a series
of troubleshooting (swapped network cards with another machine which has
an identical card) finally found that the card itself was fine.
Sure enough, as mentioned above, toggling the wifi switch, unloading
ath_pci and a modprobe ath_pci resolved the issue. My wifi light is
always on, regardless of what I do to the switch. It was frustrating, but
I hope other people get the same helpful advice :) If your wifi stops
working unexpectedly, check for a wifi switch, or a keyboard shortcut to
enable/disable your wifi.
Good luck to anyone else with similar issues :)
