As I said, this has been discussed. Even preliminary rounds remove the
expertise from the judges and may constrain them to the middle ground
of mediocrity from which to choose.

The judges are going to choose from all logos currently on:

One would hope, of course, the judges would take into account the
views of the community and filter those views expressed here and on
p.m.o blogs to identify a clear winner.

Personally, I can see 5 logos I'd want see win (with 2 others I'd be
happy with). But I don't have massively strong views between them. I
think they encapsulate a strong brand, recognisability,
reproducibility, elegance and simplicity. The tough call of a winner I
leave to the judges ;-)
