Despite owning a 770 and being involved in IRC and iTT I didn't setup a garage account until I needed to do some collaboration on the grandcentral dialer ( just released into extras today as dialcentral ). I didn't setup a maemo.org account until the Summit came around. It turns out that was after the 3 month cutoff. I was unable to run for office because I had no idea how "karma" worked and most of my participation had been on iTT and IRC, areas that karma still doesn't cover.
Maybe I would have been more active in maemo.org or karma had I been on this list, but as I believe I have stated in the past... I hate email lists. I don't have another 4 hours a week to dedicate to reading and responding to another listserv. As others have pointed out it's very hard to quantify a "participating community member" and even harder to setup an artificial rating system to make such determinations. -Eric On Wed, Sep 3, 2008 at 10:06 AM, Dave Neary <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Eric, > > Eric Warnke wrote: >> The Community Council is a prime example.
