One reason for a specialized site in this case was the amount of bug
reports and feature requests Ubuntu is getting.
Also it can be frustrating if your feature request sits for long in a
bug tracker without any progress, while it's pretty clear which ones
will bubble up on the brainstorm site.

So setting up a specialized kind of depends on whether you keep up and
can keep up in the future with bug reports and feature requests on
 bugs.maemo.org.

I see it the same as moving crash reports to a separate database to get
an overview of the top crashers -- but Ubuntu uses its bug tracker for
crashes -- you get specialized features and can keep databases useful.

(BTW there are also LP "Blueprints" where Ubuntu specs and their
 implementation progress are tracked.)
