Besides a lot of people in the community have know-how organizing big event. The problem here is the way of dealing with the money and also the organization on site, some people will have to travel to the summit city before the summit in order to help setting up the event. Organizing a event like this is fun, a lot of problem arise during the organization, but in the end the organizers will feel good for the job done (I know this :) ). If the community don't want to have headaches, a event planer will be a good option, but if some people want to work and have fun organizing the summit the event planer isn't needed, we will have more troubles, but we will have more fun, commitment to the community and also save some money.
