I'm from Germany and I would need both eur and dollar, if I had to choose I'd take the dollar as I/you often need it within CLIs but could just type 'eur' as the most do on billings... I use a us-layout because I use the special chars like /\|[]{}<>'~= more frequently as 'umlauts' or others and they are just odd to reach on german layouts.
