Depending on your needs, you might want to try http://www.sqlite.org/
which looks more suitable to an embedded device than a full fledged

Thanks, that's what I also thought about. But what I'm missing is a
fulltext index. I guess I should port my 16 bit code from Palm which is
just a few lines.
If somebody is interested in it I'll publish it. It's for a read only
database and fairly simple.
