I agree with you, Kalle. In contrast image correction (just like the Picasa "I'm Feeling Luck", red-eye removal, etc.), I think there isn't enough functionality to image manipulation in a handheld.
Yesterday, I spent some time looking for a open application with such features. I didn't found any. But, with ImageMagick, I can do something nice...
