What does "sdp-query -s DUN <pc bt address>" from a x-terminal on the
770 show? What about "sdptool search --bdaddr <pc bda> DUN"?

Though that version is *very* old. Hopefully a new package will be
uploaded by the SDK team soon. However, btcond only supports creating
RFCOMM connections to some specific services (such as DUN, SPP, OPP,
FTP), so it probably won't be of much use if your intention is to use
PAN.
