Hello,
I am working at Politecnico di Milano on efficient record-based storage strategies on flash memory. Currently we have an engine (implemented in a linux kernel module) which provides efficient handling of tables with fixed schemata on flash memory (it is build at the same level of a file system, but it is NOT a file system), and a prototype Java DBMS (PoLiDMBS) built on this engine. I'm wondering if the 770/Maemo community would take advantage of this: we currently develop on iPaq/Familiar. Even the low-level engine alone, without the bloat of a full DBMS, could be useful for many light DB-like tasks.
