This issue has been replied (by me) at least once, earlier...

The thing is, you have misnaming in some .desktop or similar file, which causes the N770 launcher think, your application never really started (= got stuck at starting) and it kills if off. Snap!

Perhaps Nokia should put a plain-text banner stating "Killing blah- blah -- it's faulty" since currently, this really seems like a magical "what did go wrong?" issue for the developers. Since things first work. I will leave this as a home work for friends there... :P

Others gave more details the last time I posted; please search the archives and you're sure to find them.

Hello,

I just released the first version of my experimental
Ogg Vorbis player for the Nokia 770. It's still lacking
some features but I am going to implement those later.

There is a problem, however. When started from the
applications menu, the player starts, lives for about
10 seconds, and gets killed (by osso?) afterwards.
Did I miss anything important? osso_initialize is called
correctly in my code as it looks. If anybody could help me
with this problem, I would be very grateful.

Until this gets fixed, you should launch the app from the
terminal with /var/lib/install/usr/bin/oggplay

If you want to compile from source code, you'll need
libao as shared library, and libogg >= 1.1.2 and
libvorbisidec (Tremor) as static libraries.

Installer package for Nokia 770:

Martin
