'strace' and 'ltrace' are your friends. They tell interesting things
about what the programs do...
If Maemo SDK doesn't contain those for ARM, at least 'strace' works if
you just copy the binary from an ARM Debian package (packages.debian.org)
to N770 /usr/bin/.
