Thanks Olivier,

Indeed, I had to change the section part in the control file.

Section: user/Commandline

Hi,

I have ported successfully the command-line package pwgen (pwgen - generate pronounceable passwords), a command-line password generation tool.

I have downloaded the corresponding debian package pwgen_2.05-1_armel.deb onto my Nokia 770. However when trying to use the 'installer' (Tools - Application Manager - Package - Install from file...),  I found following information in the Package details, tab common :

Status: not installable
Category: admin

In the tab Problems is mentioned Unable to install. Incompatible package.

However, when I use an xterm and try to install the package as root, with dpkg --install the installation proces is working fine, and the package is correctly installed.

My question : what did I do wrong that the package isn't installable via the application installer ?
Did I have to change things in the Debian control files ? Does anybody have any idea what could be the reason ?

Thanks, Jan

 Description: Automatic Password generation
pwgen generates random, meaningless but pronounceable passwords.
These passwords contain either only lowercase letters, or upper
and lower case mixed, or digits thrown in.
Uppercase letters and digits are placed in a way that eases
remembering their position when memorizing only the word.

You need to change the Section part in debian/control to user/something
if you wan't to use the gui installer.
This is documented somewhere ...

My 2 cents
