Thank you, I started looking at the code for maemo-mapper and it looks very
readable and I hope to find everything I need.  Once I figure out how things
work around the here I will create a project so others can use my code for
an example or what ever others can use it for.

gpsd.  As far as I know bluetooth GPS use the bluetooth serial port
profile for transmitting data.  Should be straightforward to extract
what you need.
