When compiling GNU's tar v1.15.1, the same version in Scratchbox, I ended
up with a binary sized at 544.5 KB -- vrs 198.7 KB for the version in
scratchbox.

Disabling the "-g" option on compilation reduced the size of the binary by
half... but still larger than the size of the binary on Scratchbox.

In general, what other compile options could I enable / disable to get the
smallest binary possible when compiling on Scratchbox? I am compiling with
optimization set to -O2.

Thanks,

-- Denis
