Just hacked up a script to automatically show/hide cursor with the synergy client, and posted it here: https://garage.maemo.org/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1701&forum_id=1121 (scroll to the end)
It requires xsetroot though, and xsetroot requires libXmuu. You can get the binaries from unofficial debian armel (sid) package index, that's what I did. They didn't install so I had to unpack the deb and get the binary and the library out. I'm hoping somebody will cleanly compile and package them. I could, but I'm currently upgrading my scratchbox.
