IMHO the application catalog is still not mature enough to represent a good source of feedback. First of all, it is not possible to post just comments without rating the application, which is a major issue for giving generic feedback. Moreover, I think that other softwares, like gforge are better suited for this task. As a final note, I _strongly_ do not agree on centralizing all on maemo portal, as a lot of softwares are not maemo specific, but maemo is just ONE of the platform supported (i plan to support openmoko, too) as in this case. Maemo portal is the natural choice to publish strictly maemo-related software, but in all the other cases (in my opinion) the natural choice is to publish it on independent party development portals (like source forge or berlios).
