  It's disappointing to learn that the N810 is so underpowered, especially 
compared to the LG KU990 "Viewty" that claims to be able to decode full VGA 
DivX at 30fps (although it only has a wide-QVGA screen).
   
  It strikes me as being strange as the list prices for the two products are 
very similar and yet the LG device has a 5MP camera and 3.5G.
   
  As a compromise do you thing the N810 has enough CPU power to upscale from 
say 426x320 (ie 2/3rds the screen size, since you suggested 20fps instead of 
30fps was do-able). That way we could at least get a big image, even if the 
resolution was compromised.

30 fps is too much. Around 20 is doable with the included gstreamer decoder. Be
aware that it does not support MPEG4 ASP (aka lots of DivX).

Since OS2008 you can use the gstreamers decodebin2 and playbin elements which
makes it really easy.
