Maemo and Internet Tablet OS were always different beasts -- the latter based on the former, with a huge steaming pile of non-open source stuff dumped on top. Maemo also has all sorts of development tools not available on ITOS, and several system packages are different (e.g. the set of busybox applets is and always was different). AFAIR Chinook was always described as the SDK for OS2008. Marius Gedminas -- Microsoft -- because God hates us.
