If I wasn't confused before, I am now ... If I connect an unpowered memory stick, power up the tablet and select host mode by doing "echo host > /sys/devices/platform/musb_hdrc/mode", it works. If I connect my MP3 player, which uses an AAA battery, it works too. If I connect my daughter's, which wants to recharge off USB, it starts then gives up as I presume it draws too much current.. If I connect a powered hub, I can read her player. However, if I power down the tablet, then power it up and connect the powered hub, I cannot read anything. If I then connect the memory stick directly to the tablet, I can get it in host mode and read the stick, then connect the hub instead and read that, too. I don't need to connect the tablet in peripheral mode to a PC. I just need to connect the memory stick. This is not sufficiently annoying for me to want to re-flash the system right now.
