Hello This week-end I found out where the serial pins of the n800 are located and added that information to the wiki http://maemo.org/community/wiki/HowTo_KernelCompilation/
I had a LOT of fun finding out and creating a special connector. at first I was betting on the four pins near the usb connector but apparently it looks like those are related to usb. I the end I managed to get a getty login on mamona(only at 9600 baud).
