Not to be rude but, really, is this necessary? We've already got
downloads.maemo.org which has the following advantages:

  * Mature base of s/w already there.
  * Users gain karma for rating apps.
  * Devellopers earn karma for popular apps.
  * It's high profile and linked to from the default OS image.

Ideally, most of the time we'd be using App Mgr to find and install
new software for the tablets; yet another downloads catalogue is not
necessarily going to help the underlying problems with maemo software
distribution.
