I'm not sure about that as I never tried Vala, only read about it. In the end I think it's important to get the job done. If you are willing to implement it and you want to use Vala I definitively would prefer that over someone who would do it in C but has not time :) Besides that I would prefer C code here, because it's not that much code and the code might be used by many people. So good compatibility and well know practices seem to be important here. Also a future integration into Hildon is probably easier if we don't use Vala. Cheers!
