Ideally, it would be nice to allow this modified debhelper7 and the original debhelper from the devkit to coexist on the same SDK installation (so that users interested on trying it out can easily do so without breaking their current target). That would require some more changes to your debhelper7 and cdbs-dh7 packages though (e.g. to not install files at conflicting paths).
