I still support GPE on chinook and I build new releases for both chinook and diablo (as well as mistral and bora). It has been over a year since I last released GPE (although my daily builds repository builds against chinook each night) -- but I am planning to do so again soon (with several bug fixes discovered during the Fremantle work). But I don't know how many chinook users there are left out there -- at one time there were several who claimed that diablo introduced problems and they reverted back to chinook. It may be worth a note to maemo-users explaining that this is happening and that although chinook users will still be able to install apps from their repository, there will be no new apps or updates. If there is a chorus of dissent you could reconsider. I would object, however, if the archived repositories (including the SDK) were taken offline -- I would like to ability to build against chinook if I really had to.
