Not upgrading (again, barring regressions that are a sad exception) is a sort of statement about willingness to disconnect from the mainstream of community (their bugreports are worthless, they won't be checking out the new Qt apps etc). I don't think it's community's (here, I mean extras infrastructure) to keep catering for people that don't want to go where the platform is going. -- Ville M.
