what it sounds like to me is when you pause in Canola the buffer isn't flushed 
(expected behavior, so that 'un-pause' is instant.) then when you click the 
link in the browser it has to start by flushing the buffer in the only way it 
can.  Out the speaker.  Once it's flushed it then begins to fill up with an 
play the .mp3.  

You can verify this by stopping the original song.  That should flush the 
buffer.
