I am considering a cleanse / flash of my N800 but would ideally prefer to do this once rather than again in a week or so if the update is really right around the corner. Without a proper restore function for apps (not just prefs and settings as helpful as they are) it takes quite a bit of time to get the repositories and apps all back on board.
