There are several alternative ways to install OpenSSH:

 * enable the application installer's red-pill mode and use the
single-click install file (this is what I have documented in
   http://mg.pov.lt/770/reflash-n800.html)

 * get root (by enabling R&D mode or installing becomeroot), then in a
root shell use apt-get install ssh (after adding repository.maemo.org
   to the app manager)

 * add repository.maemo.org to the application installer, then install
   openssh-installer from the http://mg.pov.lt/770/ repository.
(This is a failed experiment of mine to produce a single-click
install file for getting OpenSSH. It didn't work out because that
single-click file would need to register two repositories with the
   application installer.)

 * wait until someone uploads a end-user installable openssh deb into
   Maemo Extras.
