also seems to affect mageia-dvd-1-i586.iso,
although not as badly as it does on the Mandriva alpha.
With the Mandriva alpha, after an hour, it's still
running init scripts.
With Mageia, the install starts fairly quickly, but
the installer currently is showing 01:30 remaining,
after about 3 hours of installing.
I must say (as I did in the above report too) I have not seen this
problem here during atleast 20 installs, but I do have more powerful
system I work on.
an easy way to see if its the kernel Hz that hits you, is:
at the initial splash screen (where it states "boot from harddisk,
install mageia, ...) press esc and accept to go to text screen.
Then type: alt1 and press enter.
This will start the installer using the server kernel that has HZ_100.
(it will ask you about installation method, just select cdrom and it
will continue)
