What is the result of: /bin/mountpoint -q /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd && echo "I'm using systemd" This will confirm it. > 4) What is the output from "systemd-loginctl" > > Error: "Failed to issue method call: Launch helper exited with unkhown > return code 1 Something else is pretty messed up then (assuming you are using systemd which I'm pretty sure you are). Is your /usr on a separate partition? Either way, apply all updates, urpmi dracut and then run "dracut -f" to regenerate your initrd and reboot.
