Blacklisting only prevents automatic load of the module AFAIK. So a simple modprobe still works for printers needing it.Note that it is needed for some printers so if blacklisting by default is enabled, that should at least be pointed out in a README.urpmi file, so users of those printers will know how to un-blacklist it.
The problem is that no list exists of printers that need it...
