Hi...

I've been bitten by this bug:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=139270&p=1

on my netbook.

From what I read, ath9k bug is corrected in 3.3.2, and ath5k bug is
still present and a couple patches are needed.

Are we too late to have a patched 3.3.2 in Cauldron ?

ath9k fix is in our kernel-3.3.1-2.mga2

New kernel will land on Cauldron after beta3 is out

Thanks, good to know ;) !

Not sure if this is relevant but I had the same problem and looks like the solution for the laptop I was servicing was this (I left this on the thread that I had started on the user mailing list[1]):

Just letting people know of the fix for this unit.

The laptop's owner returned it so that I could work on a possible fix to the wifi connection. After some testing and trouble shooting, I deleted the NetworkManager through the MCC which allowed a more reliable connection and I also created this file in etc/modprobe.d/ath9k.conf with the line "options ath9k nohwcrypt=1" which for some unknown reason made for an even more solid connection <-- I found this recommendation on a thread somewhere but lost the location.

The laptop now connects to the internet and does not turn itself out, and, it no longer cuts in and out randomly.

Cheers,

Marc
