Hi Thomas, we had this discussion earlier on dev list (http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.mageia.devel/18602/focus=18623) where you told me that there is plan to pass Mageia 2 from the 3.3.8 kernel (reaching end of life) to 3.4 branch. I assumed you meant 3.4.11 which is currently the stable one.
And as the discussion was about backporting the support of the Wacom Intuos 5 into 3.4 (on vanilla, support started on 3.5), I decided to test the backport. You will find on Bugzilla the ticket, with a patch here: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7659 I personally applied this patch on kernel.org 3.4.11 archive, compiled a vanilla kernel and have been testing it on my desktop for the last 24 hours. Compiled fine. Up to now no unexpected kernel panic, or whatever. And Intuos 5 worked on my Mageia 2 running this kernel. Would it be possible to apply it in the spec file for kernel-desktop (kernel-rt would be great too!)? That would be awesome and would make Mageia the Linux distribution for professional graphists. :-) I will obviously personally run daily the RPM with this patch to ensure before finale release to be sure it does not make bad things, and will report any issue. :-) Thanks a lot. Jehan
