I'm pretty sure I've restarted it already after upgrading (actually it should have restart when it was upgraded anyway) and got bitten by it today, so not 100% convinced it's resolved by this switch. But either way, I'll keep my eyes open to see if it happens again (and I'll try and strace/gdb the main process before I do the restart to extract some useful info out if it too).
