Hi, Although that's a local event (Paris, France, but not necessarily in French only), I think it's good to talk about it here.
A few of us have been invited to hold one keynote or two and participate in workshops at the Web Workers Camp 3 in La Cantine in Paris (April 16-17) - http://lanyrd.com/2011/webworkerscamp3/ . Web Workers Camp is a barcamp (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp), focusing on new platforms for applications, software, people, on the technology side (see http://barcamp.org/w/page/36708944/WebWorkersCamp3). It's fun, it's highly interactive, topics that gets discussed are those that gets defined and approved in place by the very attending people - and you get way more than what you bring there. A few of us = currently ennael, rtp, boklm, dams and me (rda). We will present briefly the project origins, goals and differences to/from other projects. But we will too focus on the project as an elegant and efficient platform for developers and experimentation (that's one of the goals). I know it's a bit of a short notice (2 weeks) but we would like to welcome a few people to talk on specifics about Mageia packaging, development, plans; especially regarding stuff that matters to developers (system, apps, Web or other) - think of python, perl, php, ruby, nosql & async stuff for instance - even open hardware related tools/interfacing, why not. So if you think you have something to say in some of these (being packager, heavy hacker/developer in one of these topics) and you may come by in this dates, please raise your hand! Note that there will be workshops too, that's a bit of a barcamp. (to be evaluated case-by-case and stamped by the board - it's an option that Mageia.Org may help with accomodation/transportation) This is a great opportunity to reach some more people and get the word out about the project and enlight expectations. Any joiners? Cheers, Romain
