Why?

I have tried ktorrent and vuze. Both produce the same martian source on
eth0, source ip is same as net ip ( 192.168.1.21 ).

Turn off the bittorrent client and the martians go away.

The only thing unusual is, I'm using ipv6 and ipv4.

DNS, NTP, SMTP and a few other servers work OK.

All other clients seem to be fine ( mail, web, etc ).

Any pointers most welcome and, of course, I'll supply any info requested.

it's a bit logical, if you know how bittorrent works and what martian sources
are.

martian sources are source ip addresses that shouldn't be coming from that
interface.

perhaps you're trying to connect to yourself? in any case, it's mostly nothing
to worry about, they're dropped anyway...

I agree its not anything to worry about. Since I'm not *trying* to connect to myself, I'm interested in the why they show up (bunches of trash in the logs ).

take what happens either to yourself or your work seriously.
