I just remembered another part of the reason for the difference in what is displayed. Mageia 2 is following the upstream recommendations to replace /etc/mtab with a symlink to /proc/mounts, If you replace /etc/mtab with the symlink in Mageia 1, you'll see similar output from df, with the exception that it doesn't have the tmpfs filesystems added for systemd.
