Yes, mea culpa! I had not got the tainted repo enabled. Now it's working perfectly. You have to "buy" it from their shop, for legal reasons, but the invoice price is £0.00. It just satisfies the requirements of mp3 on distros that are fanatical in their refusal to provide the necessary. I installed their package before I realised what my problem was - probably didn't need it.
