No idea. First thing I do is upgrade the package.

As I just switched my laptop to Ubuntu, the lack of a debian install I
am starting to find particularly annoying.

At the moment only RPM package generation is created, and the Ubuntu
package set seems to be spread over 4 seperate package bases
   imagemagick perlmagick libmagick9 and magick-perl

ASIDE: IM is now now using libmagick.so.10, not 9

I have no idea how they were created or how I can generate newer more
up-to-date packages for more controled installation..

Also webmagick is built for a libmagick.so.10 library, and a more
advance perl version, so it also has problems.

---

Currently I installed the IM packages and development stuff,
then re-compile IM from TAR source, and tweek perl magick, and
webmagick items to get everything working. A real pain!

The pack has to be installed to satisify other package dependances.

---

Does anyone on the lists know anything about IM deb package generation?
Or how users can improve this situation?
