I'm reporting it as requested. Please note that this is in a directory containing a clean checkout from svn trunk, with no changes made by me whatsover. I also repeated the steps with the stable tarball, i.e 6.4.8-5, and make check did not have any errors there. So the problem appeared between the release of that tarball and revision 13884.
