> But on windows I cant get a setup which solves all my troubles. You can always build ImageMagick from source yourself with Visual C++ 2003. 2008 seems to have DLL problems whereas 2003 does not. We build with 2008 because it has better support for OpenMP which permits many of the ImageMagick algorithms to run in parallel.
An alternative is to build ImageMagick under MinGW or Cgywin. Otherwise, perhaps a knowledgable Windows expert can comment.
