Subject: Re: [magick-users] Convert on large JPG

Hi!

Convert reached some memory limits and switched to useing a disk based
cache to hold all processing data.

See the convert -limit option on the online manpages, or the HTML manual
probably installed in /usr/share/docs/ImageMagick-*/html
(or simular)

Hm - I don't think so. I tracked the files which are in use by convert (with the help of lsof). The files are not changing anymore. Same timestamps and filesize over a time of about 3h. Also convert is not using any CPU time - looks more like idleing. Also convert does not stop with an error. On Websites I found that convert will exit with an error if it runs out of mem. But in my case it's like doing "nothing" and files (cache etc) are not changing.

I just startet a new test with -debug all. Maybe this will help.

Greets!
  Markus
