Hi,

I have installed ImageMagick 6.2.6 on Mac OS X (10.4.5) following the instructions at http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php

Now I'm trying to modify some image files by adding a label to the bottom of the image, following the examples at http:// www.cit.gu.edu.au/~anthony/graphics/imagick6/annotating/

However, the labels never appear on my output files.

% montage -geometry +0+0 -background white -label "Mickey" Mickey.jpg Mickey_labeled.jpg

The file "Mickey_labeled.jpg" has a thin white stripe across the bottom with no visible label.

% montage -frame 5 -geometry +0+0 -label "Mickey" Mickey.jpg Mickey_framed.jpg

The file "Mickey_framed.jpg" has a gray frame around it, slightly thicker at the bottom than
   elsewhere, but no visible label.

% convert Mickey.jpg -gravity South -background white -splice 0x18 -draw "text 0,0 'Mickey'" Mickey_splice.jpg

The file "Mickey_splice.jpg" has a white strip at the bottom (thicker than "Mickey_labeled.jpg")
but still no visible label. But I get this error message:

convert: unable to read font `/sw/share/ghostscript/fonts/ n019003l.pfb'.

% convert Mickey.jpg -size 1x18 xc:Yellow -background Yellow - append -gravity South -draw "text 0,0 'Mickey'" Mickey_append.jpg

The file "Mickey_append.jpg" has a yellow strip at the bottom (same size as "Mickey_splice.jpg")
but no visible label. Same error message again:

convert: unable to read font `/sw/share/ghostscript/fonts/ n019003l.pfb'.

I'm not sure why ImageMagick seems to be looking for ghostscript fonts in that odd location; I have them at /usr/local/share/ ghostscript/fonts.

Help?
