Thanks very much for your help.
It turns out I hadn't completed uninstalled the 6.0.7 version of imagemagick
which was why 6.2.7 wouldn't work for me.
I uninstalled using rpm -e then installed 6.2.7 from source.
I had to ln -s /usr/local/lib/libMagick* everything into /usr/lib/ after
installing.
Everything's working fine now.
